 Cheshire Parkgate Parade

The Parade at Parkgate comprises a mixture of quaint and grand buildings, many of them listed and some dating back to the C17th. They reflect the interesting history of this area, most recently as a fishing village struggling to survive the encroaching salt marsh, but more notably a century of use as a port for Chester, a sea bathing resort, terminal for packet ships to Dublin and a ferry point for crossing to Flint.
This audio trail covers a walk through Parkgate from south to north mainly along the marsh side Parade. There is car parking at both ends of the trail at Wirral Country Park car parks and also on the Parade itself. Public Conveniences are sited in Mostyn Square half way along the Parade. The Parade is also on bus and cycle routes.
The trail begins at the commemorative bench at the corner of Springcroft and Station road
