Hungary Budapest Buda The Castle District Pocketvox

We offer two separate visits that allow you to discover the castle hill of Buda, from one end to the other.
The first one guided us through Buda’s charming little streets with their lovely houses and unusual courtyards. This second walk will take us on a discovery of the royal Buda. It begins where the first walk left off, Holy Trinity Square (Szentharomsag ter).
We will be looking at much more public architecture on this guided tour: the Baroque Column of the Plague, the spectacular Matthias church, old Buda Town Hall, and the imposing Royal Palace, as well as the Presidential Palace and the unique fisherman’s bastion with its magnificent views of Pest and the Danube.
Keep in mind that the Royal Palace contains two beautiful museums: the Budapest History Museum, and the Hungarian National Gallery devoted to Hungarian art. The latter is definitely worth a visit, since it features works that cannot be seen anywhere else, including the works of Hungarian Impressionists.

We used this on a long weekend before Christmas. Budapest is lovely and has a wealth of history. This guide was easy to follow and was very detailed giving a lot of background to the history of Budapest as well as individual buildings. As we had our small child with us it was a lot easier than doing an official guided tour with a group,as we could break off and then pick up again.
