 Hampshire Netley Abbey

Netley Abbey is the most complete surviving Cistercian monastery in southern England, with many of the monastic buildings and almost all of the walls of the 13th century church still standing.

After the Dissolution, the buildings were transformed into a grand Tudor mansion, but this has now largely vanished. Today, these picturesque ruins convey the atmosphere of the austere and ordered lives of the monks who lived here.
