Audio guides for tourist attractions

Only an hour’s train ride from London, Northampton is a town that seems to have everything: a fascinating history, great architecture, a delightful museum (with a whole floor devoted to the local shoe manufacturing industry), a thriving theatre, magnificent marketplace – and the last interior designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh at 78 Derngate. The walk was written and narrated by Rob Kendall, Chair of the Friends of 78 Derngate.
Time: 1 hour 30 minutes. Distance 2.5 kilometres.

* Several of the buildings on this walk are usually closed to the public, but may be open during Heritage Weekend, which takes place over the second weekend in September. For information call 01604 838800.
